BMW i5: eDrive 40/M type price and performance overview
The BMW i5 eDrive 40 is the next-gen electric sedan from BMW i series. What’s special is that the panoramic glass sunroof makes the car cabin look bigger from the inside.
The BMW i5 comes in two models: the BMW i5 eDrive40 and the BMW i5 M60
The most obvious difference between the eDrive40 and M60 models is the motor speed and range. The BMW i5 eDrive40 can travel up to 582 km, while the M60 can only travel 516 km. However, the M60 has much faster acceleration than the eDrive 40—it only takes 3.8 seconds to reach 100 km per hour from a standstill.

When it comes to battery life, the BMW i5 eDrive40 can cover distances of up to 582 km (WLTP) with a fully charged battery, making it an ideal choice for daily commutes and long road trips alike. The BMW i5 eDrive40 can be charged in roughly 4 hours using a wallbox with 11 kW of alternating current (AC) and in just 30 minutes with direct current (DC).
Recuperative braking—turning braking power into energy
The BMW i5 series also features recuperative braking, which converts kinetic energy generated during braking into electrical energy, thus allowing the car to go further with its driving range.
When will the BMW i5 series be released?
BMW’s i5 series is set to hit the global market in October 2023, featuring the eDrive40 single-motor RWD variant and the M60 xDrive AWD performance model.

BMW is offering an instalment plan to finance your car purchase. The plan has a balloon payment with a down payment of 10%–20%, 30–35% of the balloon payment, and an interest rate of 3.68%–4.18%. The tenure of the plan ranges from 24 to 60 months.
What is a balloon payment on car financing?
A balloon payment is a large lump-sum payment that is due at the end of a car finance agreement.
